Tommy was an Army Infantryman in the Korean War where he was awarded a Combat Infantryman’s Badge and Purple Heart for wounds received in combat, in addition to other decorations. He then went on to serve in the US Army Reserve and was Honorably Discharged as a First Sergeant (E-8). Tommy was proud of his service to his country, as he should have been.
